Board and Card Games
Abundant Harvest for Kids and Adults (Good)
Play
this game with your kids to start them thinking about real-life
decisions they're likely to come up against every day. There isn't much
direct Christian content in the game, but you can tell it's in the theme
of the game, and you can certainly make your conversations about what
God wants us to do in each situation and why.

All Aboard the Ark (Excellent)
I
like this memory matching game because it's cooperative between two
players as you help each other remember where the animals are and
because there's a sense of urgency to it. If you flip over 10 Flood
cards before you find all the animal matches, you lose.

This

game that goes quickly and has the added benefit of reinforcing Bible
stories.

The

Armor of God (Good)

Play for free! |
Platform: Browser
Publisher: Mark Gossage, 2018
Here's
a short Christian platformer game you can play right in your browser.
Your goal is to collect the Armor of God while avoiding the spikes,
making jumps across pits, and landing on moving platforms. It's a fun
game that doesn't take too long and will give you a good review of the
applicable passage.

Axel
the robot wants to start an arcade in the church, and you get to play
these mini-games! Each game has 16 or 17 game modes that you can play
solo or against any player. While not the best graphics, the mini-games
are fun, and I appreciate the variety of each volume. It should make a
good past time for kids and families.
+ + +
BibleMan: A Fight for the Faith (Good)
![]() |
Purchase, if you can find it! |
Platform: PC, Mac
Publisher: Covenant Studios, 2005
Based
off of the episode of the series, you play as BibleMan and his
teammates, defending the city against the Wacky Professor. Is it campy?
Yes! That's part of what makes it fun. Also, the cutscenes are from the
TV show, which brings back a lot of nostalgia for certain gamers. The
only detriment is that gameplay can be a little slow, as you can only
defend rather than attack.
This
is a game that has developed over several iterations. The first release
used images of Jesus, the Bible, the Ichthus fish, etc. and gave you
random verses to read after you completed the level. This newest edition
is a little more pop-culture friendly, using fruit and plants instead
of Christian images, but includes a trivia question at the end of the
level. Overall, it's very light where the Christian content is
concerned, but the gameplay is fun, and the app is well done.
This
is a simple game that's fun to play. I was always curious to see what
word or phrase the next puzzle would be. And, of course, once you know
what it's spelling, you're reminded of the book, person, event, etc. The
app runs perfectly with minimal ads, so if you're a fan of Hangman,
give it a try!
+ + +
Bible Crush (Good)
+ + +
The Bible Game (Excellent)
This
is a fun one to play with your friends. You're competing against up to 3
other players or the computer on a game show and answering trivia
questions or playing mini-games for points. There's a lot of variety in
the content and the mini-games themselves. The graphics have held up
well for a PS2-era game. I'd definitely recommend it as a group game.
+ + +
Bible Hangman (Good)
+ + +
Buddy Quest (Good)
Publisher: Group Publishing, Inc., 2015
This
is a town-building sim with the Group Publishing "Buddies." You build
your town, invite buddies to move in, and play mini-games. It's all
pretty engaging, but you do have the normal wait times for things to
build. Of course, you can hurry things up, but that's when the in-app
purchases come in. The graphics are cute, and the gameplay in the
mini-games is surprisingly smooth.
As you play, you'll
also see Real Hero Quests coming up. They relate to what you're doing in
the game but require you to do something in real life to pass the
quest. The first one, which I'm showing above, requires you to do some
cleanup around your house after you cleaned up the town plot. The best
part of this, though, is that parents can pair set it up so that they
have to mark off when their child has completed the Real Life Quest
rather than the player advancing automatically. It adds some control and
accountability to the game.
+ + +
This
is an edutainment game with a variety of activities for early
elementary kids. Kids can practice spelling, math, coordination, and
others while experiencing the story of the arrogant "King of the Bees"
and learning some very practical Christian teaching.
+ + +
Based
on the series by Max Lucado, this is a very educational game for young
children with Christian teaching woven into the gameplay.

Charlie Church Mouse

Preschool, Kindergarten, and Early Elementary (Excellent)
(Also known as Charlie Church Mouse Bible Adventures)
Platforms: PC
Publisher: Inspired Media, Left Behind Games, 2005
These games came out in a number of editions. They were even briefly called Charlie Church Mouse Bible Adventures 1, 2, and 3. No matter which edition you buy, the games are essentially the same within their different volumes.
Each
of these games tells 6 Bible stories along with offering educational
mini-games. The graphics are still up to par with today's standards, and
the games are fun and engaging for young kids. Because they include
different Bible stories and activities within such a close age range, it
would definitely be worth buying all three and letting your kids
explore each one.
Preschool Bible stories: Creation, Noah’s Ark, Jonah, 3 Wisemen, Parable of the Lost Coin, Fishes and Loaves
Kindergarten Bible stories: Elisha & the
Jars of Oil, Nehemiah Rebuilds the Wall, The Story of Queen Esther, The
Birth of a Savior, The Prodigal Son, Zaccheus & the Big Tree
Early Elementary Bible stories: Walls of Jericho, Ruth, David & Goliath, Daniel, Pearl of Great Price, Paul’s Journey to Rome.

I'm
very impressed with this game. Younger kids can enjoy a couple of
different puzzle types and "spot the difference" game while older kids
can play the variety of trivia games. The music is also very upbeat and
catchy. The one problem I have with the app is that there a lot of ads
that pop up when switching from screen to screen.

This
game uses dance pads and popular Christian music tracks. Get your

expansion packs that work with both games.
Here's
another daily game by Planet 316. While it's still a pretty simple
game, I like this one a little more because it's more than a game. After
you solve the short puzzle for the day, it provides you with a brief
devotional to read.

Granny's Bible Dojo (Excellent)
This
is a great game for learning the books of the Bible. Granny will
present the books in a jumbled order, and you have to crack the boards
in order. When you crack one, another will appear behind it. You'll also
hear Granny's instructions and encouragement, so that adds some humor
to the game.

JamBand (Excellent)

Platforms: PC
Publisher: Cloud 9 Games, 2009
With
this "Rock Band" style game, you can have two instruments and two
singers playing at a time. You can also play solo or versus mode, and
there's a good variety of 40 popular songs to play. The only downside is
that this game never had any expansion packs.
+ + +
The
graphics are great, the voice acting is on par with the cartoon, and
following the storyline of the movie, you'll learn the (VeggieTales
version) story of Jonah. The game is composed of mini-games, though,
which might be a nice touch of variety for some people but lacks a
cohesion of gameplay for me. I don't think many children will mind that,
though!
+ + +
A Journey Towards Jesus (Good)
This
trivia game gets high marks for including a story. You are accompanying
a young man named Eliab to find Jesus so that he can ask Him to heal
his sister. The quiz questions are fairly easy, and there are also some
word scrambles and other simple puzzles mixed in for variety.
+ + +
King Solomon's Trivia Challenge 1 and 2, Solomon Says: Anything Goes (Good)
![]() |
Purchase |
Play
against the computer or against other players in this game show trivia
competition. Solomon is your host, and you can set the difficulty to an
appropriate level. Solomon Says is the original game, with the King
Solomon's Trivia Challenge games being the editions that Left Behind
Games published after they purchased Cloud 9.
+ + +
Play
as LarryBoy's superhero alter ego in this 3D platformer as you learn to

the story and gameplay are entertaining enough to still please a modern
gamer.
Lightgliders (Excellent)
![]() |
Purchase a monthly or yearly subscription |
Platform: Brower
Publisher: Kingdom Scene, 2017
Lightgliders
is much more than a game. It's an all-in-one website with children's
devotions, animated and live action videos, and mini-games. The games
are either about training your character to be a Lightglider or sending
you out on missions to rescue Gliddles, cute little creatures of the
world who are lost and harassed by the evil machines. Everything
contains a lesson and is based on Scripture.
Kids can
spend a lot of time on this site, so it's definitely worth the
subscription price for as long as your kids are interested. There's also
a companion app you can get for Android or iOS.
The app is free, so it can provide a good introduction to Lightgliders
if you're not sure if your kids will take advantage of the full site.
+ + +
Light Rangers: Mending the Maniac Madness (Excellent)
![]() |
Purchase |
Platform: PC, Mac
Publisher: Digital Praise, 2005
The
Light Rangers receive their mission from their mastermind Sunday School
teacher and need to save the children of Angeltown from various sinful
attitudes caused by the Maniac Brainiac. It's a great game with a good
story, fun animation, and plenty of platforming action. There's also
just the right amount of Christian teaching. As a bonus, you can play a
Christian trivia game.
+ + +
I
like the different categories these games offer: a couple of
Bible-based, lots of different educational games, or just fun. There's
also a story mode to each game in which the hosts, Nit and Kit or Zippy,
learn a valuable Christian lesson. Within the match games themselves,
you can play with someone else on Turn Mode or increase the challenge in
Timed Mode.
+ + +
MightyNoah Adventure Game (Good)
![]() |
Play for free! |
Platforms: Android
Publisher: Doroncreations Inc, 2018
This
is a pretty fun reaction game. You swipe the ark left and right to
avoid dangers and collect coins, health, and shields. The scenery and
obstacles and varied and look great. The music adds to the sense of
adventure. When the durability of your ark gets too low, you can either
pay coins to restore it and keep going, or answer three trivia questions
to keep going. You can also watch an ad, but there is no invasive
advertising. I don't think this is a game that will keep your attention
for long, but it's fun to try out and see how far you can get floating
on the waters of the flood.

Platform: NES
Publisher: Konami, 1992
Play
as Noah gathering the animals across all seven continents. This is a
very loose rendition of the story, though, as Noah changes form with
different power-ups and even fights some rather interesting bosses.
Noah's Ark: 2 by 2 (Excellent)
![]() |
Play for free on Kindle! |
Platform: Kindle
Publisher: Truth Gaming LLC, 2013
This
memory match game presents the story of Noah's Ark with the challenge
of a timer to complete the round. You can also use power-ups to help you
get a peek at the cards and complete the round faster.
+ + +
The
theme of the map is Noah's Ark, and the player gathers two of each
animal in this memory game, but the ties to Noah's Ark end there.
There's no teaching in this game. It's simply level after level of
matching animals. And with that, it does quite well. There is a lot of
variety in the animals as well as how many cards are on the board, so
the challenge does increase the further you go.
+ + +
Noah's Elephant in the Room (Good)
Ride
Noah's elephant through the Ark, avoiding Noah's sons, who are trying
to ruin his good time. If you want to a boost, you can memorize Bible
verses and upgrade your elephant. It's a fun game to play around with,
but don't expect it to keep your attention for long. Thankfully, it
doesn't have to since it's free to play.
+ + +
Kids
will tilt their device to steer the Ark into the correct sight words.
They'll learn their words and the story of Noah's Ark at the same time.
The gameplay isn't very exciting or challenging, though, so kids might
not stick with it for very long. Fortunately, it's free, so it's worth
letting them play with as long as interest lasts.
+ + +
The Pilgrim's Progress (Good, Review)
![]() |
Purchase |
Platform: PC
Publisher: Scott Cawthorn, 2011
This
is a fun game with simple but clean graphics telling the classic Paul
Bunyan allegory in an RPG style. It's a good one for engaging action and
your spiritual mind at the same time.
+ + +
Play the Jesus Bible Trivia Challenge Quiz Game (Good)
Despite
the awkward name, this trivia app is a cut above some of the others.
You spin a dial to land on a category for each question. If you don't
know an answer or want reinforcement, you can click to see the passage
of Scripture referenced in the question. You're also on a time for each
question, so that adds to the challenge, and the sound effects and
animations make the game more addicting than most trivia games.
+ + +
If
you enjoy singing, you'll enjoy these games. With over 40 songs each
and the ability to play with up to 4 people, it should provide a lot of
fun for a long time. Each game comes with a microphone and includes a
variety of songs. There are also mini-games to help you hone your vocal
skills, and you can unlock outfits for your avatar to wear and different
venues to sing at.
+ + +
Sheep Master (Good)
Platform: Android, iOS
Publisher: Sunland Entertainment Studios, 2016
This
is a well-done farm-building/defense game. With enemies ranging from
wild animals to a sorceress who wants to take your sheep for sacrifice,
you'll have your hands full trying to defend your flock! There's also a
light but definite Christian subtext to the game.
+ + +
Stained Glass (Excellent)
This
match 3 game adds beautiful artwork and fully voiced Bible story
narrations. I particularly enjoy the paraphrased Bible stories that the
characters tell you. They're imaginative and add a fresh perspective to
the Biblical text without crossing the line into too much speculation.
+ + +

Super Bible Trivia (Excellent)
There
are a lot of Christian trivia games, but this one stands out for its
mini-games. Like some of the other trivia games above, this one uses a
game show theme that you can play solo or versus other players. The
mini-games are fun because they include things like Timeline, Who Am I?,
and Name that Book, which I found particularly enjoyable.
+ + +
Timothy and Titus (Excellent)
![]() |

Platform: PC
Publisher: White Knight Games, 2006
This
is a great (but short) action game in which you control Timothy and
Titus seeking to recover Paul's stolen letters. Now, who would want
Paul's letters to be lost? That's right, there are enemies to fight in
this game, but it's a fairly non-violent game with the human enemies
converting to Christianity when you defeat them.

Platforms: PC, Kindle
Publisher: Breakthrough Gaming, 2005, 2006

others.
+ + +
Zoey's Pinball Game (Good)
Platforms: PC
Publisher: Breakthrough Gaming, 2006
God
teaches Zoey a lesson about being a sore loser when He puts her inside
of her pinball game. It's a short but fun game and definitely has a
Christian message for kids.
