Christian Trivia Video Games

Bible Builder (Excellent)
Purchase (if you can find it!)

Platform: DOS
Publisher: Everbright Software, 1992

This is a trivia game that goes beyond the Bible to include classic hymns. You can choose your difficulty level, and when you get the right answers, you'll get a piece of a Bible verse puzzle. When you get enough pieces to name the verse, you win. When you get too many wrong answers, the candle on the left burns down, and you lose.

The Bible Game (Excellent)
Purchase

Platforms: Game Boy Advance, PS2, Xbox
Publisher: Crave Entertainment, 2005

This is a fun one to play with your friends. You're competing against up to 3 other players or the computer on a game show and answering trivia questions or playing mini-games for points. There's a lot of variety in the content and the mini-games themselves. The graphics have held up well for a PS2-era game. I'd definitely recommend it as a group game.

Bible Grand Slam 2.0 and 3.0 (Fair)

Purchase 2.0 or 3.0 on Amazon

Platform: PC
Publisher: Bible Games Company

Answer trivia questions as you make your way around the bases versus teams of various difficulty.

Bible Quiz (Good)
Platform: Android
Publisher: idailybread.org, 2017

Wow! This one is for serious Bible students. It will give you a verse (in King James!), and you have to choose which book it's from. It's great if you want a challenge, but this game isn't going to be for everyone. There are ads, but they're unobtrusive at the bottom of the screen.

Bible Quiz (Poor)
Platform: Android
Publisher: Smart Quiz Apps, 2017

The only good things about this trivia game are that there are two game modes and that it runs well. The game modes are Endless and Timed. The Timed mode should add an element of excitement as you try to answer questions as quickly as possible, but it felt unfair because I could barely read the question and possible answers before my time ran out. The mix of questions also seems unfair as there are some very easy ones mixed in with those that are way too hard. There are also way too many advertisements.

Bible Trivia (Excellent)
Platform: Android
Publisher: Christian Games, 2019

There's a lot to like about this game. First, you can decide which category to answer questions from, including Basic Questions (easy mode), or to mix them all together. Then, you can challenge yourself with a game that allows you to get three wrong answers only or set it the game to 5 minutes. Once you unlock it, you can play for an endless amount of time. If you need a hint, you can use the stick of dynamite to blow two wrong answers off the screen. But if you do get a wrong answer, the game will show which is the right answer and give you the option to see the Bible verse it's taken from.

Bible Trivia: Avatar Edition (Good)
Purchase (this one's pretty rare!)

Platform: Xbox 360
Publisher: DualOpAmp29, 2012

Play by yourself or with up to three other players as you take turns answering multiple choice questions before your time for your turn runs out.

Bible Trivia Christian Quiz (Poor)
Platform: Android
Publisher: Quizzoulicious, 2018

I like the variety of questions in this game and the fact that there is an Endless and Timed mode to give you a choice of whether you want the extra challenge of racing against the clock or not, but there are way too many ads in this app to be enjoyable. I couldn't even click to start my first game before a video ad for another app started playing.

Bible Trivia Quiz (Fair)
Platform: Android
Publisher: idailybread.org, 2018

I like that there are three difficulty levels and various achievements to earn. The questions are fair, and when you get a wrong answer, it highlights the right one so that you can learn from your mistake if you're so inclined. Still, there's not much to this game, and there are too many ads for my taste.

Bible Trivia Wheel - Bible Quiz Game (Fair)

Platform: Android
Publisher: DS Software, 2017

The presentation of this game isn't bad, but the focus on getting points is ridiculously distracting. It feels like you're only answering questions about a third of the time. The rest of the time, you're watching the wheel spin or your points add up, or dealing with a pop-up of some sort. Yes, you can skip all of those things, but that just makes the game too clicky. Over all, my opinion is that it doesn't put user experience first.

This multiplayer quiz game awards you more points if you can guess the Biblical person with fewer clues.

Granny's Bible Dojo (Excellent)
Purchase
Platform: iOS
Publisher: InsideOut Studies, 2014

This is a great game for learning the books of the Bible. Granny will present the books in a jumbled order, and you have to crack the boards in order. When you crack one, another will appear behind it. You'll also hear Granny's instructions and encouragement, so that adds some humor to the game.

The Great Bible Race (Excellent)
Purchase

Platforms: PC, Mac
Publisher: Great Bible Race, 2014

This quiz game includes difficulty levels, multiplayer, and various game modes to let you answer a variety of questions or hone in on specific topics. In Race Mode, there's the added challenge of the timer. Besides the classic Church Edition, you can also purchase the African American edition, which adds a little color to the game's artwork.

Heaven Quest (Good)
A rare find!

Platforms: PC
Publisher: Top Meadow, 1998

This multi-player board game walks you through some of the major stories of the Bible as you answer trivia questions. There are various difficulty levels to choose from and a special ending for each of the 4 avatars you can choose.

A Journey Towards Jesus (Good)
Platforms: Android
Publisher: Kupina.me, 2015

This trivia game gets high marks for including a story. You are accompanying a young man named Eliab to find Jesus so that he can ask Him to heal his sister. The quiz questions are fairly easy, and there are also some word scrambles and other simple puzzles mixed in for variety.

King Solomon's Trivia Challenge 1 and 2, Solomon Says: Anything Goes (Good)
Purchase

Purchase
Platform: PC, Mac
Publisher: Cloud 9/Left Behind Games, 2005, 2011, 2012

Play against the computer or against other players in this game show trivia competition. Solomon is your host, and you can set the difficulty to an appropriate level. Solomon Says is the original game, with the King Solomon's Trivia Challenge games being the editions that Left Behind Games published after they purchased Cloud 9.

Play the Jesus Bible Trivia Challenge Quiz Game  (Good)
Platform: Android
Publisher: RD Games, 2018

Despite the awkward name, this trivia app is a cut above some of the others. You spin a dial to land on a category for each question. If you don't know an answer or want reinforcement, you can click to see the passage of Scripture referenced in the question. You're also on a time for each question, so that adds to the challenge, and the sound effects and animations make the game more addicting than most trivia games.

Super Bible Trivia (Excellent)
Purchase

Platform: PC
Publisher: Planet 316, 2014

There are a lot of Christian trivia games, but this one stands out for its mini-games. Like some of the other trivia games above, this one uses a game show theme that you can play solo or versus other players. The mini-games are fun because they include things like Timeline, Who Am I?, and Name that Book, which I found particularly enjoyable.
